Daffodils

Daffodil photo IMG_1011_zpsa70d8aa4.jpg

Here is the first daffodil I picked this year. Daffodils marks the start of spring around here, well, at least, our version of spring.

In my garden, the daffodils predate my time as they were planted by the person who had my plot before me. They still pop up faithfully each year without much help from me.

Here is the first daffodil, a bit tweaked, for some reason.

With toadflax growing in every spare spot

I love that these self-seed every year, inevitably in an array of easter egg colors. Spring has certainly sprung when I see linarias in my garden. I thought these were in the family Scrophulariaceae but was quite surprised to find that they have been reclassified into the Plantaginaceae family.

Family: Plantaginaceae, Linaria sp.
